Give your kids a brilliant outdoors adventure with our kids summer camps! From time-travelling adventures to hardcore survival skills, our camps for kids and teens promote teamwork, creativity, and independence.

Designed for busy parents, our camps offer flexible booking and convenient hours, and are run by our award-winning education and engagement team.

Our summer camps

We offer three summer camps to suit different ages and interests:

Ages 6 to 12

Time Traveller’s Club

Hang out in history with the original Butser summer camp! From archery to pottery, bread-making to wall-building, get hands-on with crafts, games, and challenges from the ancient past, and explore a different period of history brought to life each day!

Ages 8 to 14

Butser Bushcraft

New!

Swap Minecraft for Bushcraft this summer and find out if you have what it takes to survive in the wild. Learn to light a fire and cook over it, build a shelter, tie knots, read maps, and more! An immersive outdoor adventure focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and survival.

Ages 15 to 17

Extreme Sixteen

New!

Step out of the ordinary and celebrate the end of GCSEs with an intense week of outdoor activities usually only taught to adults. Cast molten metal, make tools out of animal bone, learn to knap flint, and much more! An exciting crash-course through some of our most popular adult workshops.

About our kids summer camps

Our camps’ core activity hours are from 10am till 4pm, but we know that doesn’t suit everyone! We also offer flexible drop off from 9am and pick up till 5pm, with a range of calm activities, games, and crafts during these hours.

Meet the team

All our summer camps are run by members our education and engagement team, who are fully DBS checked and first aid trained.

Josh Ward-Penny is Butser’s master of fun, from birthday parties to scout sleepovers. He’s a goat dad, Roman reenactor, and ex-teacher, and his enthusiasm, knowledge, and patience makes him the perfect leader for our holiday camps.

Every day, Josh is assisted by members of the Butser education and engagement team. We pride ourselves on our team’s knowledge and friendliness, and camp assistants are hand-picked to make your kids’ time at camp the best it can be.
