Single ticket £21.00

See what’s included →

Join master storytellers Bernadette Russell and Jason Buck around a roaring fire for an evening of Viking sagas written in runes and tales told to the sea. You’ll hear stories of legendary shieldmaidens and warrior Queens, of epic sea voyages, gods and monsters, bloody feuds, tricksters and strange transformations, magical blacksmiths, outcasts and rebels.

You’ll be invited to join in the chants as we row in our imaginary longboats from story to story, place to place, joining the Norsemen in their epic travels as they raided, pirated, traded and settled across Europe and beyond. Skål!

A bar will be serving locally produced mead and cider, alongside a range of other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Hot drinks and snacks will also be available to purchase from our shop on arrival and during the interval.

Bernadette Russell is a published author and professional storyteller. She is storyteller in residence at Lesnes Abbey Wood, where she hosts "Rough Magic"-  a regular storytelling and seasonal celebration event. She has told stories for many organisations including Royal Albert Hall, National Theatre, National Trust, English Heritage and Southbank Centre, but she is mostly to be found telling stories in the woods around a fire.

"Jason Buck is a man made of myth, magic and mead. His stories are filled with adventure, his beard is full of unexpected twists and his tankard filled with a poet's brew. Sit around the fire and listen to his tales - you won't be disappointed." Abbie, Strange Times Storytelling Club
