School trip guidelines

We are delighted to be currently taking bookings for school trips throughout the academic year. We continue to implement the following procedures to ensure a safe and happy school trip.

  • No access for public visitors when schools are visiting

  • Schools will be kept separate when accessing the toilets with timings adjusted to suit the needs of your group and day.

  • As usual all schools will be kept separate for all activities, talks and lunchtimes. We can offer groundsheets for picnics but schools/ children are encouraged to bring their own.

  • Our toilet and public areas are regularly inspected throughout the day to ensure their cleanliness.

Cancellation policy

We do not charge for cancellations more than 30 days in advance.

Cancellation charges will apply for visits cancelled within 30 days unless:

  • The school is closed due to a Coronavirus outbreak at the school and advice from Public Health England

  • Local Authorities, Councils or Government close schools or stop all school trips within the UK

  • The farm is closed

Cancellation fees are:

  • 25% of the visit cost + VAT if cancellation is within 30 days

  • 50% + VAT if cancellation is within 14 days of the visit.

  • 100% + VAT if cancellation is within 24 hours of the visit.

All cancellations must be made in writing.

If for any reason you are not able to visit or cannot bring the number of children specified in your original booking, please let us know as far in advance as possible.  This is to enable us to give our staff enough notice if they are no longer required to work.

We will only charge you for the number of children who attend on the day (minimum charge equivalent to 20 pupils still applies). If your visit is rebooked for the same academic year we will waive the cancellation charges.

Pre-visits

Please book pre-visits in advance.

If you would like to attend during school term time please book by telephone so we know to expect you. Our number is 02392 598838.

If you would like to organise a pre-visit when we are open to the public (weekends and school holidays) then please book normal admission tickets online here. We do not charge for teachers (please use the code TEACHER when booking to get your ticket for free). If you plan to bring your family they will need to pay the normal entrance cost.

Safeguarding Policy

The farm has regular staff training and a comprehensive safeguarding policy available to view on request.
