Boat Burn Festival 2026

Trader Applications now open!

Our much‑loved festival returns on Saturday 19th September, complete with the spectacular Boat Burn. Step into an immersive celebration of Viking and Saxon life, featuring living‑history camps, skilled craftspeople, atmospheric music, and a dramatic longship burn at dusk. It’s one of our most anticipated annual events.

Trader applications are now open, and we invite all interested traders to apply as soon as possible. If you’d like to be part of this unique and vibrant event, we’d love to hear from you.

Who we're Looking For?

We’re seeking traders offering high‑quality, atmospheric, and historically inspired goods that reflect the spirit of the event. This includes artisans, makers, and sellers offering Viking‑esque goods, Norse‑inspired creations, traditional crafts, medieval‑style items, or products that naturally belong in a historical setting. Whether you’re a blacksmith, leatherworker, woodworker, jeweller, or creator of handmade wares, we welcome applications from those who can help bring the atmosphere of the Equinox Viking Boat Burn to life. If you’d like to be part of this year’s marketplace, please see the details below and complete the application form.

When is the Deadline?

Applications will close on 31st July. We may bring this date forward if we feel we have reached a strong selection of traders, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible. If your application is successful, we will be in touch with the next steps.

What is the Fee?

Our trader fee is a one‑off £119 for a 3m x 3m pitch. This covers your space for the full event. We are expecting around 2,000 visitors, making it a great opportunity for traders looking to showcase their work to an enthusiastic audience. Pitch fees are non‑refundable unless the event is cancelled by Butser Ancient Farm.

Interested in Tickets?

Public tickets for the Equinox Viking Boat Burn will be released soon. If you’d like to join us for this year’s celebration, keep an eye on our website and social channels for the official launch announcement. Stay tuned!

Please note that applying does not guarantee a space, as trader spots are limited, but we carefully review every application we receive. Please don’t be discouraged if you aren’t selected this time - we genuinely keep strong applicants in mind for future events. We truly appreciate your time and interest, and we’re excited to look through your submission.

If you are a food or drink trader interested in attending the event, please email events@butserancientfarm.co.uk as we have a separate application process for drink and food stalls.
