Create your own wooden work of art! Learn the fundamentals of woodcarving using traditional tools and techniques in this relaxed, beginners-focused day course, and see your design take shape in wood.
Taught by Mark Vyvyan-Penney, a woodcarver with over 30 years of experience, in this workshop you’ll learn everything you need to create a wooden sculpture or carving. Work at your own pace, and discover how to select and apply a design, use traditional tools to carve wood, finish your creation without resorting to sandpaper — and why a big mallet is no substitute for a sharp chisel!

Included in your ticket
Entrance to the farm, a full day’s tuition and expertise, access to a full set of traditional woodcarving tools, and all the materials necessary to create your own woodcarving.
This workshop is suitable for ages 18+.
Please wear sensible clothing and footwear for this workshop. Lunch is not included, although sandwiches (subject to availability), hot and cold drinks, and snacks are sold in our gift shop. You’re also welcome to bring a picnic if you prefer!
