An entrancing evening of Celtic harp music in the unforgettable setting of our Little Woodbury Iron Age roundhouse.

Internationally-renowned harpist Harriet Earis will be returning to perform a spellbinding concert of jigs, reels and airs as well as some early medieval Welsh harp music and a taste of some 6th-9th century poetry.

Harriet has performed solo in the Royal Albert Hall and the 02 Arena in London and gives recitals all over Europe and America. This is a unique chance to hear her virtuosic brand of harp music in the intimate setting of our roundhouse. Indulge your senses and unwind in the company of friends and music lovers at this unforgettable event

There will be a bar selling locally produced cider, mead and a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Immerse yourself in enchanting melodies as you enjoy a selection of beverages, amidst the tranquil ambiance of a balmy summer evening. Hot drinks and snacks will also be available to be purchased from our shop.

About the event

  • A unique chance to hear Harriet’s virtuosic brand of harp music in the atmospheric setting of an Iron Age roundhouse, nestled within the beautiful landscape of the South Downs.

  • Primarily aimed at adults but older children who would enjoy the event are also welcome

  • All profits will go to supporting the ongoing educational and research work of Butser Ancient Farm

INCLUDED IN YOUR TICKET

Two hours of a truly unique experience, with renowned international harpist Harriet Earis performing harp music and ancient poetry. Visit the Farm outside of normal opening hours on a beautiful midsummer evening.

USEFUL INFORMATION: Please dress suitably for the weather and bring appropriate footwear. You may wish to bring a blanket or cushion to make your seat more comfortable. Please bring a torch as it may be dark returning to your car to the end of the event.

SEATING: The seating for our events is rustic and includes benches and hay bales. We can also add plastic high-backed chairs if required. If you have any specific requests please email administrator@butserancientfarm.co.uk.

TIMINGS: This special event starts at 7pm, so please arrive at 6.45pm. The event will finish at 9pm.

FIRES: Please note there will be open fires in the house during this event.

PURCHASES: There will be a bar at this event and the opportunity to buy hot drinks, snacks, and gifts in our shop.

ALCOHOL: No alcohol to be brought into the event.

ANIMALS: We are sorry but dogs (apart from assistance dogs) are not invited to this special event.

REFUNDS: We cannot offer any refunds on tickets unless Butser Ancient Farm needs to cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

SPECIAL EVENT: This event is not included as general admission for our annual pass holders.

COVID-19: We will be complying with any relevant Covid-19 government guidance in place at the time of the event including the latest guidance on mask wearing. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate, please do not attend.
