BOOK YOUR SLOT HERE

Ticket price includes storytelling performance and a magical winter wander around the ancient buildings of the farm.

There are three timeslots available during the day (11.30am - 1pm / 1pm - 2.30pm / 2.30pm - 4pm), each group will be called into the roundhouse to listen to half an hour of enchanting festive stories around the fire.

Join author and professional storyteller, Dawn Nelson, as we journey across the winter landscape to the wood where the trees gather for the great battle between the kings of the winter woodland: the holly and the oak. Listen to stories of sleeping kings, green women and plucky vikings, the stories the trees gathered as they made their way across the land to join their cousins in the woods.

When you have listened to stories around the crackling fire, you are invited to follow the trail to discover the winter folklore of the farm. There will be make-and-take crafts in our cosy ancient houses for kids of all ages. You will be able to gather round the warming fires and watch the flames leap and dance while your little ones create presents to take home.

We will be serving hot, mulled drinks and sweet treats for all our winter adventurers to purchase in the shop. And you will even be able to get those last Christmas gifts at our lovely shop before you leave.

Whilst much of nature may appear to be slumbering, midwinter is the perfect time to celebrate the natural world and be reminded that although the nights are long now, the season is turning and the green leaves of spring will soon come again.

The stories will be suitable for children aged 5 to 11 but all are welcome.

Dawn Nelson is a professional storyteller and author performing at festivals and events around the country. Her latest book , ‘Adventures in Nature’ provides inspiration for families to connect with nature using stories and the wisdom of our ancestors.
