Butser Summer Youth Project

Butser Summer Youth Project

Thursday 4th August, 10am - 3pm

Free

BOOK HERE

Butser Ancient Farm are delighted to be in a position to invite 13 to 25 year olds to come to the farm this summer, thanks to the generosity of East Hampshire District Councillors who have funded the project. There are 2 days available, Thursday 4th and Thursday 25th August. Young people can sign up to just one or both of the days.

The Butser Youth Project is a great chance for people to work together as a team, helping to build some of the ancient buildings at Butser Ancient Farm this summer. They will learn practical skills but also transferable skills such as team work and communication. This is a great opportunity for them to work with people across different age groups in a friendly environment and can be confidence building. Working outside in the summer months and discovering hidden talents, this will look great on their CV too!

There are likely to be further opportunities for the young people who have attended this youth project to return to Butser in the future and these days are a great starting point to learn what the farm is all about and become involved with experimental archaeology.

You will need to bring a packed lunch, drink, sun cream/hat or wet weather gear depending, plus wear suitable clothes/shoes for working outside.

This project is for young people aged 13 to 25 and there will be manual labour involved.

If you are booking for more than 1 young person, please book each attendee individually.
