What’s on this Week?

The site is open throughout the year with a variety of activities for families, including chalk crushing, wattling, archaeology, mosaics, feeding the animals and a quiz. The additional demonstrations below are provided by volunteers to enrich your particular visiting day. Please note: All activities are subject to change but visitors are welcome to check activities by calling 02392 598838 – Option 5

We are now into our Winter opening hours open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, last entrance is at 3pm.

Our busiest time with schools is between 10.30am and 2pm. After 2pm we become quieter so we would recommend this time if you are looking for a peaceful walk around the farm.

10th – 14th December

We are open to visitors from Monday to Friday this week and welcoming school to learn about our ancient past.

We’re busy working on the construction of our new Saxon Hall. Some of the team are also continuing our redecoration project in the Roman Villa, hanging curtains and painting the walls. The fires are being lit and are the perfect place to shelter from the Winter cold.

On Wednesday we will be carrying out a traditional pit firing to fire pottery made over the year.
