Teachers’ Familiarisation Days

New to the Neolithic? Getting ready for the Romans? Or the Celts, Iron Age, Bronze Age, Saxons or Vikings? Come and brush up your ancient history at Butser Ancient Farm.
This autumn we’re offering teachers a chance to visit Butser Ancient Farm and help prepare for classes. We’ll give you an introduction to the subject (Stone Age, Iron Age, Celts) and a chance to visit our amazing authentic ancient farm with buildings (based on archaeological evidence) from the Stone Age, Iron Age, Roman and Saxon eras.
Stone Age, Iron Age and the Celts – Tuesday

Romans, Saxons and Vikings – Thursday
The talk and tour will take one hour and then you are free to visit the rest of the farm. You will be led by an experienced member of Butser Ancient Farm’s education team, who will be happy to answer your questions at the end of the tour.

Normal entry fees apply (£9 adults) but please book a place in advance – the booking is free, you can pay the admission on the day. These talks are just for teachers but you are welcome to bring your family with you and they can visit the farm while you enjoy the tour.

We are offering a choice of two days, Tuesday October 29th or Thursday October 31st. The tours will take place at 10.00am each day. To book, click on the appropriate link below. If you have any questions please contact us
