The Friends of Butser Ancient Farm is a charity set up to support the farm’s experimental research, construction and educational activities. The Friends were set up in 1976 when a group of supporters agreed to formalise their association with the farm by adopting a constitution and registering as a charity.
Membership benefits include:
– Free entry (except at special events)
– Special interest lectures
Funds raised by the Friends have been used for a number of different projects on the farm, including the Janus Visitor Centre opened in March 2013.

Membership of the Friends is open to all who wish to support Butser Ancient Farm, and their efforts are a huge asset to our operation.
